Whether you can change your flight is decided by the airline based on the type of ticket that was purchased. Any changes made may be subject to fees by PLT and the airline.
Overview
The ability to make changes to your booking is decided by the airline and the conditions of the ticket booked and is not something we are able to influence.
Changes can only be made to refundable bookings, unless the airline will permit an exemption for extreme circumstances.
If we are able to authorise a change to your booking, the cost is broken down into:
PLT fee: $75 per passenger, this helps us cover our costs and make the change for you
Airline fee: this fee is decided by the airline, based on the type of ticket that was purchased
Fare difference: if the change results in booking a new ticket, or amending the current ticket, there may be a difference in price between the tickets
These fees are applicable to every passenger that has their own seat
You need to be up to date with your payment plan before we can process any changes.
If your flight is within 24-48 hours, please go directly to the airline for assistance.
Changing your flight
Please be advised that if your flight is 24-48 hours away you should contact the airline directly for assistance.
Changing a flexible fare:
If your flight is flexible, changes can be made, including:
Date and Time Change - Note we cannot move your departure date to be earlier than when your current repayment schedule ends.
Departure or Destination Change - We may be unable to change the departure country as it affects the currency on the ticket.
Please be advised that we are unable to change the airline or the passenger.
If your booking has multiple passengers these changes can be applied to either all passengers, or just some of the passengers. These changes will be subject to airline availability and all flight costs are subject to change until the associated change fees are paid (see below).
Changing a non-flexible fare:
If you originally booked a non-flexible fare, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate any changes. In some cases we may be able to convert your fare into airline credit vouchers to be used on a future flight. Please be advised there are certain conditions to this:
The credit can only be used by the same passenger;
The credit can only be used on the same airline, and;
Your payment plan must be complete before we are able to convert your booking into vouchers.
Converting booking into is subject to the airline and ticket rules and restrictions, and is not something we can guarantee. Be advised that as changing to a new flight via vouchers constitutes a change, you will be charged a fee by both us and the airline when you redeem your vouchers.
Exemption of fees:
In special circumstances such as the death of an immediate family member or a medical illness preventing you from flying, we may be able to apply for an exemption with the airline directly. This would mean you would be exempt from paying the change fees. Unfortunately this is not something we can guarantee and the airline will require proof of either circumstance.
The fees:
Be advised that initiating a change, whether your ticket is refundable or not, will incur fees of:
PLT fee: $75 per passenger, this helps us cover our costs and make the change for you
Airline fee: this fee is decided by the airline, based on the type of ticket that was purchased
Fare difference: if the change results in booking a new ticket, or amending the current ticket, there may be a difference in price between the tickets
These fees apply to all passengers who are booked to occupy their own seat; infants who sit on their parent or guardian’s laps for the duration of the flight may be exempt from these fees (but may still be subject to airline taxes). These fees need to be paid upfront before we make the changes to your ticket, and cannot be added to a payment plan. Please be advised each time you request a change, a separate fee will apply.
Please be advised that while we may be able to provide you with a quote for the change, we will be unable to process any changes to your booking if you are not up to date with your payments. Please ensure your latest instalment is paid before contacting us.
